What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy, which is sometimes called a seizure disorder, is the fourth most common identified neurological disorder. Epilepsy will impact 1 in 26 people during their lifetime.
In the State of Florida, there are more than 400,000 individuals diagnosed with epilepsy.
A person is diagnosed with epilepsy when they have had two or more seizures.
There are over 40 different types of seizures.
Seizures can occur anytime, anywhere and impact anyone.
Treatments can help manage the seizures, however, there is no known cure for epilepsy.
