National Epilepsy Awareness Month: A time to support families who turn to JoshProvides

November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month, a time when JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation shines a bright light on this neurological disorder that impacts 1 in 26 people during their lifetime. We hope that you will join us at our 5th Annual Chase Away Epilepsy Walk scheduled on November 2nd at GT Bray Park in Bradenton. We encourage you to “like and follow us” on social media as you see our daily posts throughout the month. And we want you to expand your awareness of Seizure First Aid training so you can help someone experiencing a seizure.
Our goal is to educate and advocate for all of our Purple Warriors and their caregivers.
As CEO of JoshProvides, I am humbled by the grit and determination of our warrior families. They live each day determined NOT to let this disorder define who they are! With over 40 types of seizures and no known cure, our families turn to JoshProvides for tangible support to improve the quality of their lives. Preventing seizures is the hope – managing them is the reality! And JoshProvides is committed to helping people manage their seizures.
With any disorder or disease, a great deal of focus and funding is on research and finding a cure. Until that happens for epilepsy and seizure disorders, JoshProvides fills a direct need and positively impacts the lives of people living with epilepsy through financial assistance and transportation to diagnostic testing appointments, distribution of seizure alert devices to children and adults, funding for seizure alert training of service dogs, and sponsors a semi-monthly Epilepsy Support Group to combat social isolation, keep our families connected, and offer community resources. We can only offer these vital resources thanks to the generosity of our donors, friends and families.
