On March 22, 2013, the JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation, Inc. was organized as a Florida nonprofit corporation. The organization had thirteen original members on its Board of Directors to complete an effective succession plan for the Chapnick family and ensure the perpetuation of the organization.
By July, 2013, JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation, Inc. had registered under the Florida Solicitation Contributions Act and received Registration Number CH39093. Following a review of the organization’s application, on September 24, 2013 (effective March 22, 2013), the Internal Revenue Service determined JoshProvides is a public charity under IRC Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) and is exempt from federal income tax under IRC Section 501(c)(3). Contributions to JoshProvides are deductible under IRC Section 170. JoshProvides is also qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers, and gifts under IRC Sections 2055, 2106, or 2522. The organization’s endowed and non-endowed investment accounts are handled by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.
Today, JoshProvides is helping people in its local Sarasota and Manatee Counties, throughout Florida, and across the United States. One family at a time, JoshProvides is helping win the battle against epilepsy.
