In Memory of Bruce P. Chapnick
A licensed attorney who specialized in corporate tax & estate planning and mergers & acquisitions, Bruce and his wife Sandi were Co-Founders of JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation. Established in honor of and in memory of their son Joshua David, Bruce served as Executive Director from 2013 until his passing in September 2017. Bruce found his life’s passion as an advocate to improve the quality of life for those living with epilepsy or other seizure disorders. His commitment and dedication to this mission formed the foundation for JoshProvides. Our sincere thanks to everyone who made a memorial donation to JoshProvides to recognize and honor Bruce. Your generosity and support allow JoshProvides to fulfill its mission and Bruce’s dream!
Sandi Chapnick Elected to
Board of DirectorsThe Board of Directors of JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation elected Co-Founder Sandi Chapnick as a member of the board at its October 2017 meeting. In addition to serving on the board, Sandi has resumed her role as facilitator of the monthly Epilepsy Support Group where she shares her experience, offers moral support and emotional comfort, and gives practical advice that may help other parents and caregivers.
Thank you, Sandi for your commitment and service to the families and individuals who turn to JoshProvides for assistance and support!
Welcome Andria Bilan, CEO
Andria Bilan assumed her role as CEO of JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation on October 23, 2017. Andria has more than 40 years of executive non-profit experience in Pennsylvania and Florida including the United Way, YWCA and JFCS. Most recently, she had served 18 years as Vice President of Development at Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast, Inc.
“We are delighted to have Andria on the JoshProvides team. She is one of the most effective fundraising professionals in our community. Her donor-centric approach to fundraising, passion for message and mission, and commitment to expand vital services to vulnerable and at-risk individuals & families will allow her to advance the goals of JoshProvides,” noted Rose Chapman, Board Chair.
Bilan succeeds Co-Founder & Executive Director Bruce P. Chapnick, Esq., of blessed memory, who along with his wife Sandi, established JoshProvides in memory of their son Joshua David who suffered from epilepsy and passed away in 2008. JoshProvides was established by the Chapnick Family to support those living with seizure disorders by financially helping them with seizure alert monitoring equipment, seizure response dogs, medical services and transportation costs as well as offering support groups for families & caregivers of those living with and affected by epilepsy or other seizure disorders.
“Helping children & young adults living with epilepsy and supporting their families & caregivers is very personal, as several of my family members have been diagnosed and treated for seizures. I am honored to carry forth the torch from Co-Founder Bruce P. Chapnick, Esq., of blessed memory, and strengthen the impact JoshProvides has in our community,” stated Bilan.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals, businesses and foundations who support the mission of JoshProvides, the agency awarded 21 grants to children, young adults, individuals and families in 2017.
6 Seizure Response Dogs: Micayla, Caleb, Hugo, Janelle, Katlyn and Lillie all received their trained seizure detection and response dogs and now have the unconditional love and support from their canine who will alert them and comfort them when the dog detects a seizure coming on.
4 Seizure Detection Monitors: Lillianna, Tyler, Dawson & Kai are safe at night and their parents can rest easier knowing that the monitors will alert them if their child has a seizure.
4 Seizure Response Monitors with Cameras: Ben, Jack, Liam & Robert are monitored while they sleep, and videotaping of their seizures are captured and sent to their neurologist, providing their parents peace of mind that the length and severity of the seizure is recorded.
4 Transportation & Medical Service Grants: Brittany, Shanon, Morgan & Frank were able to seek medical services, evaluation and treatment through assistance from JoshProvides.
3 Seizure Detection Watches: Janel, Amira & Tyshawn can be independent and “be normal kids doing normal things” because their watch will alert their parents if it detects a seizure.
Based on an increase in requests and with your help,
JoshProvides plans to award 36 grants in 2018.
Thanks to your support…JoshProvides!
