Ruth Harshman received her B.A. in psychology from Florida State University and her M.A. in psychology from the University of Toledo. Ruth has always been very community minded, and was appointed by Ohio Governor Voinovich to serve on the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees, also serving as Chairperson of the Board.
Ruth has considerable government experience. She was mayor of Poland Ohio for nearly 18 years, leaving that position to become Director of Grants Management for Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann. She and her husband, Atty. Michael Harshman, moved from Columbus to Sarasota in 2008. Here, Ruth received certification from the Supreme Court of Florida in County Mediation, in Family Mediation and in Circuit Civil Mediation; she is experienced in Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation.
